Burgundy is to be found on the eastern side of France and slightly to the north of Bordeaux .Here the extremely temperamental and highly strung grape, pinot noir, is fashioned into the most expensive and sort after wines in the world. Laying eyes on a bottle of Romanée Conti is an achievement though to actually drink some might well be overwhelming! The gently rolling hills provide the perfect terroir for both the legendary P N and Chardonnay, the dominant white made legendary in Montrachet and Corton-Charlemagne. If short of Euros then simply admire the picturesque roofs of Beaune with a bier pression and a sandwich!
