This corner of North Yorkshire (yes, north of York!) is as spectacular a part of the world as you will find anywhere on the planet and its heather moorland is one of the most unique habitats on earth. Leave your car far behind, put on your walking boots and find a pub in Rosedale or lastingham or Grosmont or Egton and as for your return ? well, that's but a minor detail!
