Norfolk  was, in the middle ages ,the wealthiest county in England courtesy of the wool trade - then , as always, the good times ceased to roll. Thankfully what it lost in its riches it managed to retain in its beauty. The magnificent broads have been restored thanks to holiday makers who now drift from pub to glorious pub. The wildlife , especially on the wetlands is unparalleled and its long coast a favoured haunt of sportsmen be they floating  or with  rod in hand. Tranquility is never very far away.
